Writing Tutor Room

$ 50,000   1 opportunity

All Yale students are expected to be able to write in a manner that expresses ideas clearly. In support of this expectation, undergraduates are required to take two basic writing courses, and advanced writing skills are encouraged and rewarded throughout the undergraduate experience. To develop this skill, students are offered access to writing tutors through their residential colleges. Many of the tutors are professional writers, most of them have taught writing courses at Yale or other colleges, and all of them have worked with students for several years in a variety of capacities. Tutors have a solid understanding of writing expectations across the curriculum, and through the residential college system, tutors are able to develop strong, long-term relationships with students over several years. The tutor room offers a dedicated space for student/tutor appointments.
