The Visual Resources Image and Media Office is located near the Atrium and the Special Collections Reading Room. This office represents an important facet of the Arts Library’s design, which reflects the increasingly interactive nature of digital technology, and the need for strategic and creative forms of intervention as well as production capacity. Although much of on-site Image and Media Collections will be available in digital form and thus not require physical space, the staff formerly working in the Visual Resources Collection will join the Arts Library in this office to support the production of digital transition, and the important public services to assist faculty and students in the use of the emerging digital Image Commons.
