Group Study Room

$ 500,000   3 opportunities

Libraries are increasingly important as gathering places and centers of collaboration. Such an emphasis is especially important to the arts area, where course work is often based on collaborative activity, whether among students or between students and their faculty and librarians. Therefore, the Arts Library group study spaces will encourage, as much as possible, shared activity and study, informal social exchange, and communication. These study rooms will also more easily permit “quiet zones” conducive to individual study and contemplation elsewhere in the Library. Two group study rooms are located on the level immediately below the ground floor; a third is near the front of the ground floor, a short distance from the Main Reading Room.
