$ 100,000 - $ 2,000,000

Designed by Charles Gwathmey ’62 M.Arch. and built to LEED-certified standards, the Jeffrey Loria Center for the History of Art is adjacent to Yale’s Art + Architecture Building, a modernist landmark designed by Paul Rudolph and erected in 1963. This new home for the Department of the History of Art features two lecture halls, a green roof and terrace, a faculty lounge with adjacent terrace, and a full complement of seminar rooms. The project is an integral part of Yale’s Arts Area Plan, a $500 million program of renovation and new construction for the University’s fine arts schools, departments, and collections. The Jeffrey Loria Center for the History of Art ensures that Yale’s History of Art Department has facilities that are commensurate with the excellence of the program itself.

A generous gift from Jeffrey H. Loria ’62 has provided leadership support for the construction of this new facility. Spaces throughout the Loria Center offer multiple opportunities to provide lasting recognition for those whose additional support has provided capital funds for the project.
