Research funds are provided by the Provost to support a broad range of research activities by members of the Yale faculty. At the same time, faculty introduce undergraduate and graduate students to the mindset and methods they need to conduct original research on their own. In an era of escalating costs, gifts directed to research—whether faculty or student projects—sustain a remarkably productive community and ensure the University’s place as a research powerhouse. These gifts have enormous impact on Yale’s ability to educate and to develop ideas that are felt far beyond our campus.
