Programs in International Educational Resources (PIER)
$ 100,000 20 opportunities
The Programs in International Educational Resources (PIER) draw upon Yale University’s extensive resources to advance understanding of international and world regional issues through outreach to K-12 educators and students, business, media, and the public. Since its inception in 1974, PIER has multiplied the effects of the scholarship of Yale’s outstanding faculty and staff. Thousands of educators and hundreds of thousands of students have benefited from PIER. PIER’s award-winning services include professional development workshops at Yale and in schools and community colleges; production and evaluation of educational materials; a resource library of video, text and other teaching materials resources; curriculum consultation and development; lectures, conferences, and other events; field study abroad; and educational partnership and exchange opportunities. Endowing PIER would ensure that this important resource will continue to serve its established regional audience. Donors who establish an endowed fund may state a preference for specific issues, areas of the world and/or audiences, such as global public health, or East Asian Studies.
