School of Engineering & Applied Science Building
Multiple opportunities
An important path to the future of science, and of Yale, begins at the intersection of biotechnology and nanotechnology. Research has advanced to the point where chemists, biologists, and physicists have unprecedented control of materials and phenomena at the nanometer scale. On this frontier, Yale scientists are verging on significant new conceptual insights and applications, particularly at those junctures where disciplines can combine in totally new ways.
The University aims to promote even greater collaboration and impact in a properly organized nanoscale research facility. A building to house the newly formed Yale Institute for Nanoscale Research will require a multimillion-dollar commitment, but individual components cost considerably less, and a range of capital gift opportunities are available beginning at $50,000. Donor support will not only equip existing research teams to break new paths in nanoscience, but also assist efforts to recruit the world’s best researchers to Yale’s growing faculty.
