Freshman Seminar Program Endowment

$ 1,000,000   1 opportunity

Taught by distinguished members of the Yale faculty, the freshman seminar program offers a diverse array of courses designed with freshmen in mind. With enrollment in bi-weekly seminars limited to eighteen students, these broad and scholarly courses encourage active discussion and participation among the students and help create social and intellectual bonds of enduring value. In addition, such classes connect students with the sort of teachers who will be likely advisors for them as their course of study progresses.

A gift to endow the seminar program will provide a source of permanent support for these special courses. The fund will increase the number of seminars, provide for assistants to help develop teaching materials, and fund special events such as trips and guest speakers.
