Public Health Student Internship Fund

$ 100,000   25 opportunities

A cornerstone of Yale’s Public Health experience is the internship. During the summer between their first and second years, students spend ten to twelve weeks working with an organization, typically a not-for-profit agency or group, or in a laboratory. Internships are identified and negotiated by the student and supervised by the student’s faculty adviser and an on-site preceptor. Many of the internships are unpaid, and School funds available to support students in volunteer positions are very limited. As a result, many students take out loans to complete their summer internships. A permanent endowment will ensure that students can gain critical ‘hands-on’ experience with some of the world’s finest public health organizations—without going into further debt.
