Divinity School Annual Fund

$ 25 - $ 50,000

In Yale Divinity School, all Alumni Fund contributions are directed toward financial aid. This policy addresses a major challenge faced by our divinity students, that of cost. Increasingly, YDS students borrow to meet their financial needs, and they graduate with crushing debt—for the Class of 2004, levels of indebtedness reached as high as $70,000. Considering that many of our graduates choose professions that, although richly rewarding and fulfilling, tend to be low-paying, this debt burden is unacceptable.

To reduce the pressures on our students, the Divinity School now aims to increase the proportion of tuition covered by scholarship aid to seventy-five percent. Donations to the Divinity School Alumni Fund are essential to meeting this urgent goal.
