Beinecke Library Endowment for the History, Literature, and Culture of the Americas

$ 100,000   150 opportunities

The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library is one of the nation’s leading repositories for books and manuscripts relating to the history, literature, and culture of the Americas. It is the steward for major collections—from the papers of Jonathan Edwards to those of Gertrude Stein, Langston Hughes, and Georgia O’Keeffe—including correspondence, photographs, fine art, and video and audio recordings. Nonetheless, the library lacks a major endowed fund for ongoing acquisitions in this important area of teaching and research. Through the campaign, the Beinecke seeks to create a permanent endowment for the acquisition, processing, and preservation of materials relating to the Americas.
