Library Directorship

$ 3,000,000   4 opportunities

Yale University Library has several distinguishing, world-class programs. Manuscripts & Archives, housed in the Sterling Memorial Library, is a major center for historical inquiry and serves as the documentary memory of Yale University. The Preservation Department is responsible for the long-term care of the rich and unique record of human thought and creativity contained in the Yale University Library. Oral History of American Music collects and preserves audio and video memoirs in the voices of major musical figures of our time. Additionally, a range of student-based programs are vital components of the strength and breadth of original research being performed at the undergraduate level. Each of these programs would be strengthened through an endowed directorship so that the library has strong leadership in areas that are experiencing positive, yet transformational, change. A gift of $3,000,000 will establish a permanent endowment to be named according to the donor’s preference for recognition.
