Library directors carry the primary leadership role in their departments, overseeing staff, projects, and policies, staying informed of developments in their fields, and providing direction for their respective areas. They work closely with the appropriate associate university librarians to develop and implement collection, technical, and public services programs in their departments.
A gift to endowment can fund a directorship in perpetuity, covering salary and expenses of this senior staff member. The library is seeking four new funds to endow the directorships of integrated library technical services, the science libraries, the arts libraries, and library preservation.
