New student exchange programs are often sponsored by faculty who wish to expand their relationships with peers in institutions in other countries. Some programs operate for a defined period of time, and others evolve into self-sustaining global partnerships. The MacMillan Center and its constituent area studies councils are well situated to effect new international graduate student and faculty exchanges, but need seed money to launch such projects. A named fund to support exchanges can be endowed with a gift of $100,000 or more.
