International Interdisciplinary Professorship

$ 3,000,000   6 opportunities

To pursue its refocused research and teaching agenda, The MacMillan Center must appoint a substantial number of eminent senior scholars of international affairs over the next several years. Distinguished senior faculty will provide the center with the gravitational force to attract students, faculty peers, knowledge, and resources to pursue dedicated inquiries. These professors may be appointed to any Yale department or school, and in some cases to more than one department or school, and will be chosen primarily for their record of achievement and potential to advance scholarship and teaching. In addition to their departmental or professional school affiliation, incumbents of these professorships will be appointed Professors of International and Area Studies. While the actual cost of supporting a distinguished scholar requires an endowment of $5 million, existing MacMillan Center funds enable these professorships to be offered at $3 million.
