Engineering Teaching Laboratory Fund
$ 100,000 Multiple opportunities
Undergraduates in Yale’s engineering program prepare to assume roles in industry—a course of study requiring extensive training in our design and testing labs. First-year students enter the creative process by designing and constructing robots for a year-end competition. At the senior level, students use more advanced labs for team-based, semester long-projects and product development activities. In between, a variety of lab experiences help students to develop their design and prototyping skills, as well as the teamwork and communication skills vital to success in their later professional lives.
Now, the School of Engineering & Applied Science seeks an endowment of $1,000,000 to provide in perpetuity the materials and supplies for undergraduate laboratory experiences. Such a fund would also support the expansion of classes to admit to more undergraduates.
