Now, as Yale expands its capabilities in the emerging areas of biomedical engineering, environmental engineering, and nanotechnology, faculty support is more important than ever. The endowed chair is a vital tool as the School of Engineering & Applied Science recruits and retains scholars who can meet Yale’s high standard, work collaboratively, and support the additional goal of extending the international component of our programs. Endowed professorships exist in perpetuity and provide lasting recognition of whomever the donor chooses to honor. The cost to endow an existing faculty position is $3,000,000.
