Reference librarians are central to Yale’s mission of teaching and research. They assist with the teaching and research needs of students and faculty; develop collections in printed or digital formats; run instructional programs for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty; inform the wider campus community of the respective collections through appropriate advocacy, publicity, and exhibitions; and provide general reference services to patrons. The library is seeking permanent endowed funding for reference librarian positions in the Map Collection and such fields as the arts, the humanities, the social sciences, and the sciences.
