Library Collection Support Fund

$ 100,000   Multiple opportunities

Library collections of all kinds require expert selection, care, and management to ensure their continued value to generations of Yale students and faculty and to scholars from around the world. The library’s collections in all subject areas are carefully selected for Yale’s teaching and research purposes, and their use is facilitated by highly skilled subject specialists and experts. Sustaining collections, however, requires dedicated financial resources. Library collections can only be made available, for example, if they are well cataloged, but cataloging is a time-consuming, professional process. Endowed funds are needed to provide permanent support for trained librarians in areas such as literature, history, divinity, sciences, social sciences, and various international regions. Other funding opportunities include special collections, such as the maps, historical government documents, and drama collections.
