The editorial director is the head of the acquisitions department and is responsible for all five editorial programs of Yale University Press: general interest, academic, art, languages, and reference. In addition, this senior staff member is responsible for the image of the Press in the market place, in academia, in the media, and in the minds of readers around the world. A gift to endowment would fund this editorial directorship in perpetuity and ensure a continuing commitment to the Press’s traditional mission as well as its new initiatives.
