The one-story laboratory facility will provide the necessary research infrastructure to house the Institute for Microbial Biology and other institutes at West Campus. The building was originally conceived to support synthesis of drug candidates on scales ranging from micrograms to kilograms, a capability essential for path-breaking discoveries in combinatorial, medicinal, and synthetic chemistry. With these advance technologies researchers may use this facility to design, synthesize, and optimize lead molecules for the treatment of human disease.
