Chemical Screening Core Facility

$ 25,000,000   1 opportunity

New methods to rapidly identify biologically active molecules offer a way to revolutionize the traditional disciplines of molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular and cellular pharmacology. Housed in Research Facility B27 at West Campus, the Chemical Screening Core provides access to up to 1 million compounds. Equipped with high throughput screening, the core enables biomedical researchers to screen chemicals for an effect on biological processes. The results of these screens may facilitate a drug discovery pipeline where lead screening targets are developed into drugs with the potential to treat or prevent human disease. A gift to name the Chemical Screening Core Facility would provide an endowment to support the ongoing operations and new technology development associated with this facility.
