Yale has been a leader in environmental policy since the dawn of the modern environmental movement, and thanks to the continuing partnership between F&ES and the Yale Law School, it remains so today. A new era in law and environmental policy is now under way, and there is a pressing need for a new generation of leaders well-trained in both disciplines and their integration. Yale’s joint degree program meets that need uniquely well and is led by a senior professor with dual appointments at F&ES and the Law School. A named professorship will help Yale attract and retain outstanding individuals to direct this initiative, now and in perpetuity. It will also confer honor on the donor and his or her gift in support of two of Yale’s greatest professional schools—F&ES and the Law School.
